alm Composite Systems, LLC

Corporate Overview

ALMCS is a high tech composites manufacturing company which produces commercially viable, small [or community], vertical axis wind turbines [VAWT’s] that are currently available in 2.5 kW, 5 kW, and 10 kW increments and can be sold in multiple groups. A hybrid wind/solar unit is under development. ALMCS is led by a high volume manufacturing expert and a 30 year veteran in high tech composite manufacturing. They are joined by seasoned managers in finance, sales, administration and construction. ALMCS is supported by Alion Science and Technology [Alion] with 3,000 engineers and scientists with core strengths in design, engineering, and testing including a range of energy projects. Alion has a successful history of expertise in government contracting, program management, and serves as ALMCS’ mentor in government contracting. ALMCS is also supported by Enterprise Electric, a bonded electrical contracting company which provides construction, regulatory and local contracting expertise for installations. ALMCS Team Capabilities, in addition to manufacturing, include ability to design new, site specific applications of these renewable energy producers for varied uses to include above office buildings, alongside roads and pipelines, and for remote locations in developing nations where electrical infrastructure cannot be found.

ALMCS has products that have successfully completed a two year trial in Texas. Three models are approved by the California Energy Commission.  First units will be manufactured in 3rd Quarter 2012.

These small wind turbines are easy to manufacture in high volume and can be rapidly deployed with simple installation construction. Designed for optimal capture of wind energy at low speeds, the ALMCS VAWT can easily tie in to electrical distribution lines and does not require costly transmission [grid] lines in order to quickly produce local power. Low in height and noise, the ALMCS VAWT not only limits potential interference with critical security/surveillance functions but also serves to address local community concerns. The ALMCS family of turbines are sturdy, lightweight and durable utilizing its proprietary composite formula which supports low cost, high volume manufacturing. While warranted for five years, an independent engineering study predicts a useful design life of 20 years.

Located in Scarborough Maine, ALMCS will expand to a full scale facility at the closed Brunswick Naval Air Station now known as Brunswick Landing, Maine’s Center for Innovation where green business and job creation incentives will help ALMCS in its scale-up. The Scarborough facility will remain for research and development work.
